A Date With Silver Featuring Owie Abutu

Welcome once again to A Date With Silver, today we get to know more about Owie Abutu. Seat back, grab a drink and read on.

Silver:Can we get to know more about you?

Owie: My name is Owie Abutu, I was born in the early 80's in Kaduna State, first child of six children. Married with a son.

Silver:How long have you been into the ministry?
Owie: Ok, I have been singing for over 5 to 6 years but officially in 2011.

Silver:Can you tell us about your journey so far, considering the good, the bad and the ugly?

Owie:Well the good, Its the fulfillment, I think that's the first reward from God. I've received calls from all over the world, people calling of there encounter with my songs. In fact, the good part is the tangible impact in the lives of many. The Challenging part is been accepted at the beginning. I remember a marketer who reject 1000copies of my CDs. That was a heavy rejection that created a low feeling in me. But as God will have it, the same reporter call and was asking for 5000copies.

Silver:What has been your most fulfilling moment?

Owie: Ok, my most fulfilling moment will be the times that I sing and people are been touched, some give there life to Christ. That is the most successful part of the ministry particularly when its gospel.

Silver: In your album, one of the most trending is “our God is Indiscriable”, what was your inspiration for this song?

Owie: Our God is indiscriable is a good song because its blessing me personally. Some times we try to use words to qualify God and what we discover is that, the English word can't even qualify him. So one morning I sat down and I discovered that you can't describe God, that's where the word “Our God is indescribable ” came from. God can't be interpreted, to the sick He is the healer, to the man looking for bread, He's the provider. So you can't coin him into a word.

Silver:What has been your most trying time?

Owie:Well its when you are expecting a certain kind of explosion and financial breakthrough but its having a kind of snail speed. They are the two trying time that often show up.

Silver:What do you have to say to parents who prevents there children from going into music or any talent which they have?

Owie:Generally, the way Africans respect the word “work” they tend to prevent there child from the gift or talent. The African man believes in going to school and earning a white collar Job, not knowing that everyone was born to fulfill a purpose by God. So parents should allow and surpport there children to follow there gift, especially when you see a gift in them. The most important thing in life is fulfillment.

Silver: Any general acknowledgement?

Owie:Well I'll first appreciate my family, for there commitment, there Patience and then my various friends that I cannot mention all and my wife, she's cool, thou I travel very often but she is still supportive. Also to my fans out there, thank you all!

Thats all for now, see you, same time next week. Thank you!
