A Date With Silver Featuring Mr Benue 2016

Welcome you once again to this amazing program, A Date With Silver. Today we will be having a special guest, Mr Benue 2016, and my associate Jeremiah. Sit back and enjoy the ride, Lets get started.

Can you give us a rundown of your background?

Mr Benue: Am by name Abah James Ekere. Am the current Mr Benue, am Idoma by tribe, a HND holder from Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo. From the family of Seven, am the fourth born, I do modeling at my leisure time and then I work for an NGO, Nigeria Red Cross Society. Am currently serving in Nassarawa State and doing my PGD (post graduate diploma) programe.

How long have you been into modeling?

Mr Benue: For Nine (9) years.

Have you gone for any other contest before these?

Mr Benue: On the 11th of April 2009, I went for Glo rock and roll, I won there Glo swag team, so I had a four years contract with them. After that I went for Mr & Miss Valentine, which I also won and then, Mr Benue.

So what motivated you to go for Mr Benue?

Mr Benue: After Mr Valentine, I decided to step up, and I saw that the crown of Mr Benue was bigger than that of Mr Valentine. So I had to go for it. Although this wasn't my first of contesting for it, I went for Mr Benue 2014 and then 2015 which I won.

As a model, that means you have a passion for dressing?

Mr Benue: Yeah.

So what is that one thing you can't go out without it?

Mr Benue: My glasses, you always see it on me. If am out without it, I feel like am not complete.

As Mr Benue, am sure you've gained popularity and alot of fans. So tell us, how do you cope with the fans especially the female fans?

Mr Benue: It's not been easy but am trying. Like for me, before I went into the contest, I had what I was suppose to do with the crown, I had a goal, so when I came in, it wasn't something I had to brag here and there, I already had set goals. So the ladies were not part of it at all. So it wasn't that much of a challenge for me, because I didn't put them in mind.

What Challenges do you face as a male model?

Mr Benue:  As a male model, most times people see you as a gay, so it make us watch the kind of things we wear, before, skinny jeans was fashion but now they tag it to being gay. The major challenge there, is the stigma of seeing you as a pimp and homosexual.

What are your current projects as Mr Benue?

Mr Benue: I've done so many projects, like to help and visit the orphanage homes. I've done male pageantry- Mr Tourism Benue. I have crowned like seven boys, because I was the only male, the rest where female Queens. So I needed some other guys so we can fight for the course. Because my major project was to fight against cultism, Illegal possession of arms, robbery and other social vices

If not modeling, what would you have gone into?

Mr Benue: Fashion designing.

After Mr Benue, what next do you intend to contest for?

Mr Benue: This is my peek. What am going to be doing is to train my boys. This is my last contest as a model.

What advise do you have for the upcoming models?

Mr Benue: I will like them not to force themselves into modeling, they should do it because they love it. They shouldn't do it because others are doing it. There is more strength in doing it because you love it.

Thank you very much for coming today and sharing with us your experience. To my great readers, God bless you. Am working towards getting my youtube channel so please keep the love coming.

THANK YOU
