BREAKING: Protesters shut down Arik airline

Premium Times reports that the members of staff of the airline are currently staging a protest at the domestic terminal of the Murtala Muhammed airport displaying placards.


Others danced to anti-establishment songs by the late Afrobeat musician, Fela Kuti.

“We want them to pay us our salaries. They are owing us for seven months,” one of the protesters was quoted as saying.

Earlier, there had been reports that following failure to pay 7 months salary arrears, unions in the aviation sector have directed the commencement of a joint strike at Arik Air, with effect from Tuesday, December 20.

The strike is also to protest some other anti-labour practices which the airline has allegedly defaults
