Benue gets sponsors for 2017 sports festival

The Benue State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Lawrence Onoja, (jnr) has said that his ministry has secured sponsorship for the hosting of the state’s festival later this year.

Onoja disclosed this during the ongoing accountability press briefing organised by the Benue Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Makurdi.

He said that the ministry has got sponsors for the hosting of 2017 Benue State Sports Festival even as efforts are on to go into partnership with companies for the building and upgrading of sports facilities across the state to ensure full commercialization of sporting events.

Onoja added that as part of collaboration with the Federal Government to initiate and kick-start-start construction and completion of abandoned federal projects in the state, his ministry also hosted the Minister for Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung.
